Are You Out There?

The idea of the Tradition Club is to give traditional musicians in and around South Shields a place where they can get together, jam, teach and learn. At present we have no home and no members, which is where this website comes in. If you are a traditional musician living in the area and want to become involved, you can register your contact details here. When we have enough interested parties we can start looking for a suitable venue.

Whether you just want to play music with like minded souls, or want to learn a traditional instrument, be it Northumbrian, Irish or Scottish (or any other persuasion, come to that) then the Tradition Club could provide a setting for your needs. The idea is that the club will be something more than just a session or a folk club, but will be more inclusive, social and participatory, a place where we can get to know each other and encourage those new to traditional music. If you care about the state of traditional music in our not so little town, then get involved!
